Prof Debbie Ellis (South Africa)

Prof Debbie Ellis is a Marketing Professor in the School of Management, IT & Governance at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She has over 30 years of consulting, teaching, supervision and research experience. Debbie is also the President of the African Social Marketing Association (AFSMA). She reviews and is on the editorial board for numerous international journals including Business Strategy & Development, Health Marketing Quarterly, the Journal of Social Marketing, the Journal of Consumer Behavior, the Journal of Cleaner Production, and Sustainable Development. Her primary areas of research interest include social marketing, behavior change for social good, business strategies for sustainability, eco-consumers, young consumers, and consumer knowledge.

LUCY CHABALA KAWESHA (Zambia)

Lucy Chabala Kawesha is a full time Lecturer and Researcher at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) in Zambia. Chabala is committed to industry-integrated scholarship as is evident by her contributions to the global fight against Youth-unemployment where she bridges theory and practice through mentoring student entrepreneurs in business skills and sustainable marketing practices drawing from her vast expertise in higher education marketing, retail management, and brand management. Her research interest is inclined towards Commerce, social marketing, health communication, digital marketing, consumer behavior, and environmental and cultural preservation, thus inspiring the next generation of responsible business leaders in Zambia and beyond. As an accomplished researcher and lecturer, Chabala volunteers her time and expertise on the Board of Directors of the African Social Marketing Association (AfSMA), the International Social Marketing Association Social Marketing Global Awareness Week Committee as well as the iSMA Orbit 1.
